Samantha Katz Seal

Samantha Katz Seal is Associate Professor of English and the Pamela Shulman Professor of European and Holocaust Studies at the University of New Hampshire. She is a scholar of the human body and human difference in medieval English literature, with a particular focus on mechanisms of heredity and reproduction. She is the author of Father Chaucer: Generating Authority in 'The Canterbury Tales' (Oxford University Press, 2019).  Her current book projects include Before They Were White: Making Race at the Dawn of Modernity and a novel about Alice Chaucer, granddaughter of Geoffrey.
