Grace holds a BA in English and Psychology from the University of Ghana and previously worked as an editor at Pentecost Press in Accra, Ghana. This fall, she joins the PhD program in English & Comparative Literature at Washington University in St Louis (WashU) as a McDonnell Academy Scholar. Her research interests focus on examining linguistic deviations in African literature as a deliberate device employed by authors to infuse their works with cultural depth. Specifically, she aims to analyze and interpret the distinctiveness of English language usage in African literature, uncovering the intentional choices authors make to embed their works with culture, thereby enhancing their relatability to both local and diverse audiences.
